Irendu Govt (TN & Kerala) dum Mullai periyar dam issue va internation issue mathiri thevai illama build up kodukaranka. The Dam was actually build on 1895 which has 111 yrs old but much younger than 'Kallanai Dam' which was build some 2000 yrs back by chozha king and is still being pretty strong.
Undoubtedly, mullaperiyar dam is much stronger without even any inch of crack and deserve for 152 feet water storage level. But Kerala giving build up that dam might be broke at any time amongst their ppl and not allowed to store water beyond 136 feet. TN govt insist that it would store water upto 142 feet according to the SC verdict. This turn the situation into worst & stalemate.
What should be the feasible solution ???
TN should build up the new dam on TN side which should be used to store the excess water beyond the 136 feet of mullai periyar dam Or decommission the current dam and build the new one (whichever is best suited for TN & Kerala) and make a new agreement on the water storage.
Kerala voda main kandu ennana, namma edathula dam katti, namma thannia store panni, athula irunthu current eduthu, nammakae nalla villaiki vikkurankaley appadinrathuthan. The power generated from the dam is around 115 KV which contribute only 1% of the total TN power production(which is negligible). So we could give all the power generated in the dam to Kerala at free of cost. Definitely kerala will come down for this proposal bcoz of their power shortage and cost saving.
More water storage generate more power, so kerala would not resist on raising storage level to 142 feet since they get extra free power.
The ball is now on TN court and they should solve the issue peacefully & constructively without create scene and make it politisize.
